The Revival

A Renewal of the Black Man, the Black Family, and the Black Community

The Revival is where everything begins. Before a man can build wealth, lead his family, or restore his community, he must first be revived from the inside out. Not motivated — revived. This book is the blueprint for that transformation: who you are, who you were built to be, and what is required to become that man. Written from the inside of the community by a Marine, a pastor, and a financial planner who has sat across the table from capable men for thirty years and watched capability go to waste for lack of a framework.

  • The only book that addresses the whole man — identity, spirit, family leadership, and community covenant — in one complete blueprint.
  • Written for the man who knows something is missing but has never been handed the language or the map to find it.
  • Includes reflection questions at the end of every chapter — designed to be read alone or in a men’s group for maximum impact.
  • The foundation of the entire trilogy. Everything that follows is built on what this book builds in you.
  • Foreword by Major Don Carter, U.S. Marine Corps — 30 years of service. When a Marine speaks about another Marine’s book, you listen.

Breaking Cycles,
Building Wealth

The Financial Echo System of the Black Family

For generations, Black families have carried more than financial challenges — they have carried echoes: inherited patterns shaped by history, survival, silence, distrust, and denied opportunity. Breaking Cycles, Building Wealth names the Five Financial Echoes, traces each one from its historical origin to your kitchen table, and provides the Five-Ring Ecosystem for replacing the echo with a generational wealth strategy that holds. The echo ends with you. The ecosystem begins with you.

  • The only financial book written specifically for Black families that connects historical policy to present-day behavior — and gives you a practical path out.
  • The Five Echo Framework gives you the vocabulary to name what has been draining your family’s wealth for generations — and what to do about it.
  • Covers Medicare, Social Security, IUL, estate planning, and safe money strategies from the perspective of a ChFC® and RICP® with 30 years of practice.
  • Not just about money. About legacy. About naming what held you back and building what carries you forward.
  • The essential companion to The Revival — identity first, then strategy. This book gives you the architecture your finances have been waiting for.

Book Three  ·  The Grove Trilogy

The Village
We Lost

Reclaiming Black Community in the Age of Integration

What happened to the village that once held Black communities together? In The Village We Lost, Dr. Grove examines the quiet disappearance of the communal structures — the churches, elders, neighborhood networks, mutual aid societies, and shared accountability — that once formed the backbone of Black life in America. This is not a rejection of progress. It is a call to remember what was lost, reckon with the cost, and rebuild what the next generation needs most.

  • A landmark examination of why Black communities lost their institutional infrastructure — and a practical blueprint for rebuilding it.
  • Draws on history, sociology, and 30 years of community leadership to diagnose the problem with the precision of a practitioner, not a commentator.
  • The Gather Again framework gives communities four actionable practices to begin rebuilding collective efficacy immediately — regardless of resources.
  • Completes the trilogy arc: the man is revived, the family builds wealth, now the community is restored. Nothing is missing.
  • A book for pastors, community leaders, educators, and every person who has ever looked at their neighborhood and believed it could be more than it currently is.

The Covenant of Change

When Revival Becomes a Way of Life

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” — Deuteronomy 7:9

The trilogy is the evidence. This book is the law. The Covenant of Change asks the deepest question of all: once change begins, how does it become permanent? How does revival become not a season but a way of life — lived faithfully, passed forward generationally, and sustained by a covenant that does not depend on human effort alone? Four covenants. Fifteen chapters. One unbreakable commitment to a thousand generations.

Dr. Leon Grove

Dr. Leon Grove grew up in the housing projects of Mobile, Alabama — a product of exactly the community these books are written for. He has never forgotten where he came from, and everything he has built since has been in service of the people who remain there and the generations still to come.

A service-disabled U.S. Marine Corps veteran, ordained Missionary Baptist pastor, ChFC® and RICP® financial planner, college finance professor, and doctoral degree holder — Dr. Grove does not speak about transformation from a safe distance. He has lived every dimension of the blueprint these books provide: the personal reckoning, the financial rebuilding, the communal covenant.

Through Grove Financial Group Inc. (founded 1997), Grove Family Worship in Mobile, Alabama, and The Webtech Design LLC, Dr. Grove serves the Gulf Coast community as a financial advisor, pastor, and technology entrepreneur — five roles, one calling.

They are not four separate careers. They are one calling expressed in four arenas — and the calling is the same in every one of them: equip the man so he can lead his family and his community.
